Erin Rommens is a multimedia artist originally from Duchess, Alberta. Rommens graduated from the University of Lethbridge New Media program in 2022. Through her time at the UofL, she has developed a focus on graphic design, cinematography, animation, and video editing. She currently lives in Fernie, British Columbia.
Rommens has always had a keen interest for artistic endeavors from a young age. Throughout her youth, she received art lessons from Rita Wildschut, a local artist, at the Red Roof Studio south of Duchess, Alberta. Through Rita, Rommens learned how to create pieces of art using all sorts of mediums, such as oils, water colours, acrylics, pastels, and clay. Through her, Rommens learned to appreciate the beauty of flowing lines and vibrant colours, while also unlocking a creative passion for the arts.
Within her list of accomplishments, Erin has had her work featured at the Calgary Stampede as a part of the Grade 12 Western Art Scholarship in 2017, and had projects featured in the University of Lethbridge New Media Student Showcase in both 2018 and 2019. She was chosen to receive the Abbondanza Fine Arts Undergraduate Scholarship from the University of Lethbridge in 2020. Her work was also included in Here: A New Media Exhibition as a part of her NMED 4690 - Advanced Studio class in the spring semester of 2022 at the University of Lethbridge.
